Here’s a new advance in muzzleloading… an electronic ignition muzzleloader. Apparently, instead of a mechanical trigger, the trigger is actually a switch that ignites the charge. It’s not clear from the photo’s or the copy on the sight if it actually uses an electrical shock to ignite the powder, or if it just initiates a hammer into a cap.
It’ll will be interesting to see how well it performs in the field.

Knight rifles has just announced the release of a new bullet called the “Ultimate Slam Series PBT” Here’s an excerpt from their press release:
If you’re shooting the best muzzleloader in the industry you really ought to shoot the best bullet, too. Knight’s new Ultimate Slam Series PBT (polymer boattail) muzzleloader bullet delivers exceptional long-range performance, devastating penetration and massive shock and damage. It is the first polymer tip, all copper bullet for a muzzleloader. A specially designed streamlined tip enhances the expansion of this 100 percent copper bullet. Upon striking game, this exceptionally accurate bullet expands into six razor-sharp copper petals for maximum tissue damage. It creates massive shock and deep, sure penetration while retaining virtually 100 percent of its original weight. The new .50 caliber bullets are available in 250 and 290 grains and in 18 and 30 packs. The new sabot design makes loading easy without sacrificing the tight gas seal that makes the Ultimate Slam Series the most accurate muzzleloader bullet on the market.

I had to write about this one… my wife thinks it’s “cute”. A dog bone shaped capper.
I have to wonder if Form Followed Function, or Function Followed Form when they designed this one. Either way, it’s a unique little tool.
Check it out here.
Ok, this is interesting. I’ve never seen a rifle company “Guarantee” anything like this, especially on a Muzzleloader… it’s a 200 yard accuracy guarantee on the Knight Rifles “Long Range Hunter”. It will be interesting to see if the gun holds up to it’s name.
Knight Rifles Long Range Hunter Guaranteed to 200 Yards
It will be interesting to see if this rifle actually holds up to it’s guarantee. One thing it doesn’t mention however, is how they will back up the guarantee…
