Bald Eagle Freed with one shot… from a Muzzleloader!

Here’s a great story I found on the web today.  An Iowa conservation officer freed a Bald Eagle from being stuck on a tree with one shot… using a muzzleloader!  Talk about an amazing shot!

Sandholdt bent a tree sapling over to use as a brace. He used the muzzleloader’s scope to take aim, and the bullet traveled 60 to 70 feet, cleanly through the edge of the knothole. Sandholdt figures he hit the talon, too.

A caution to Black Powder users…

I’ve heard of Black Powder being ignited by Static Electiricity… but apparently, Black Powder can even be ignited by the mear friction of pouring it from one containter to another
