I thought that I had some confessions January 15, 2008 I was very familiar with two out of the four authors. And just let me say that they are just amazing at what they do, Joy and Meta. The other two authors Electa and Cheryl have it going too. I loved the whole book, everyone of the stories were just amazing and I truely loved reading it. Each story I wish would become a full book. The were that good. I have to say that "Love B-Ball Style" was my fav.
Confessions are good for the soul January 12, 2008 Excellent short stories with out over the top erotica. Although fiction; these stories are sure to have you relating to the characters and perhaps taking on emotion with them. Each of these ladies have a unique and specific writing style. My favorites were the narratives by Cheryl Robinson and Meta Smith. Please pick up this novel of short stories you wont be disappointed.
Destined to be a BESTSELLER! August 10, 2007 This anthology features four romantic stories from the wild side. The stories will leave your desiring more from your significant other, tonight!
Love B-Ball Style by Joy King has a hip-hop flavor with a super sexy edge. Bianca takes the job as personal assistant to NBA super star, Glen Goodman, as a favor to her aunt. She never intended on it becoming a career nor did she plan to fall head over heads for an athlete.
These Are My Confessions by Electa Rome Parks follows the journal of Kennedy Logan. Kennedy shares her heartbreak while speaking of the sexual fantasies that she lived. Kennedy has deeper issues that must be resolved.
Strapped by Cheryl Robinson is Karen's story about restoring her heart and finding herself. You see Karen was living a hum drum life as a school teacher who was recently dumped by her man. She spends the summer discovering her sexual identity and purpose.
Divas Need Love Too by Meta Smith explains how Leslie manages her new found life as a music icon. Leslie has to learn to handle success, money and the barrage of ex-lovers that return to rock her world. With all of these choices will she be able to choose the right one?
These Are My Confessions offers four stories that will grab your heart and not let go. These authors have a unique gift of capturing the reader's attention and taking them on a trip filled with words and visual illustrations. Deltareviewer Reviewing for Real Page Turners
Confessions are good for the soul July 28, 2007 Four of the newest voices in African-American literature have come together with four scorching stories of love and lust. With their unique writing styles, Joy King, Electa Rome Parks, Cheryl Robinson and Meta Smith bring to life strong women who are searching for love, but enjoying the foreplay.
"Love B-Ball Style" by Joy King has Glen Goodman's assistant, Bianca, falling for the already taken basketball star. Bianca finds herself attracted to her boss, but knows she can't keep up with his current live-in girlfriend. However, Bianca doesn't realize she possesses all the things Glen needs in a woman.
Electa Rome Parks' "Theses Are My Confessions" takes a look into the life of a woman who loses herself completely to a man. Kennedy finds herself a pawn in Drake's scheme of turning her out sexually, but it takes Kennedy's strength to recognize what love truly embodies.
In Cheryl Robinson's tale "Strapped" Alexis Cartwright is discouraged with her love life and decides to spend her summer break exploring her sexuality. Not only does she learn more about herself, she finds herself in a very compromising situation which she may not be able to get out of.
The final story in the compilation is "Divas Need Love Too" by Meta Smith. Lucky always dreamed of being a successful songwriter and singer and after many years of struggling she has made it. Now, back in her home town of Chicago, she is ready to shine. Of course old boyfriends start coming out of the woodwork, but when Spock appears, the joys and pain of the past resurface. Can Lucky forgive and rekindle the love she never forgot?
Each of the stories was unique, but they also dealt with love, whether genuine or even obsessive. The writers' styles were different, but they were all able to tell a strong story with minimal pages and not leave the reader needing more. Although any of the stories could have been full length novels, there is enough eroticism to keep the pages hot, but tasteful enough to not be offensive. There were only minor grammatical problems, which should be corrected by the final copy. Other than that, check out this erotic short story collection.

heated contemporary romances July 4, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"Love B-Ball Style" by Joy King. Basketball superstar Glen hires Bianca as his personal assistant to replace sexagenarian retiree Ms. Pearl. Although she makes it clear that his ego needs sandblasting, she hides from her employer her attraction to him.
"These Are My Confessions" by Electa Rome Parks. Kennedy remains frustrated and ashamed over her relationship with Drake, but hides her feelings from everyone; only her diary contains her true confessions.
"Strapped" by Cheryl Robinson. After the end of a promising relationship, the Detroit school teacher Alexis travels to Texas where she meets a strapped to the max Dallas cop, who is working a black widow sex case.
"Divas Need Love Too" by Meta Smith. Lucky became a superstar singer with a Miami mansion and all sorts of boyfriends; yet remains lonely until she returns to her Chicago waitress roots where an ex reminds her what love-making is all about.
Not for everyone, these heated contemporary romances contain realistic scenarios that cross the sexual spectrum.
