| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Maya Resnikov is great at gymnastics, but more than anything she desperately wants to fit in with her new friends---especially her new stepsister, Kelly Reynolds. They know everything about American pop culture, while Maya doesn't. But she's making it her mission to find out. From food, fashion, music, TV, comic books, and everything in between, Maya researches all she can about American life. Is there any way Maya, Queen of Georgia Gold Gymnasts, can become Maya, Queen of American pop culture?

I am a gymnast, too! October 23, 2001 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am 8 year old girl, who loves to read almost as much as I like to do gymnastics!!! I like reading about it, but not quite as much as I like doing it! I think this book is very realistic! I particularly like Maya.
MAYA DESPERATELY WANTS TO FIT IN WITH HER NEW FRIENDS. March 29, 1997 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
MAYA RESNIKOV IS GREAT AT GYMNASTICS,BUT MORE THAN ANYTHING SHE DESPERATELY WANTS TO FIT IN WITH HER NEW FRIENDS, ESPECIALLY HER NEW STEPSISTER,KELLY REYNOLDS. KELLY AND HER FRIENDS KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT AMERICAN POP CULTURE;MAYA DOESN'T. BUT...SHE'S MAKING IT HER MISSION TO FIND OUT. MAYA RESEACHES ALL SHE CAN:FOOD,FASION,MUIC,TV.AND ANYTHING ELSE SHE CAN FIND! (I RECOMEND THIS BOOK TO CHILDREN AGES:7-12)
A good bookfor young gymnasts December 7, 1996 Maya is from Russia and is the best Silver Star in her team. But, she wants to fit in with the other girls in the Silver Stars. So, she copies her American step-sister, Kelly.Kelly gets bugged by that asks Maya what is the matter.Maya tells her and Kelley understands. Kelley helps Maya to know the other Silver Stars better. It all turns out to be a happy ending and Maya turns out to be one of the "girls".
