Product Description
One simple idea can set you free: Don't take on a problem if it isn't yours! One of the most liberating books in the extraordinary One Minute Manager Library teaches managers an unforgettable lesson: how to have time to do what they want and need to do. The authors tell why managers who accept every problem given them by their staffs become hopeless bottlenecks. With a vivid, humorous, and too-familar scenario they show a manager loaded down by all the monkeys that have jumped from their rightful owners onto his back. Then step by step they show how managers can free themselves from doing everyone else's job and ensure that every problem is handled by the proper staff person. By using Oncken's Four Rules of Monkey Management managers will learn to become effective supervisors of time, energy, and talent -- especially their own. If you have ever wondered why you are in the office on the weekends and your staff is on the golf course, The One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey is for youit's priceless!

Understanding Monkey's Makes better Ministers! October 19, 2008 The staff of a large Church studied the One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey. They found in unbelievable funny. Indentifying the next move in identifying monkeys from each other and members made the work more fun. Just understanding the next move as a monkey became funny instead of accepting chores or somebody else' MONKEY. At my final luncheon each one gleefully receive a key chain of a barrel of monkeys and talked about how liberating the concept really became. This book needs to liberate a new generation of managers.
"It's tough to work for a nervous boss; especially if you are the one who's making your boss nervous." June 6, 2008 Solving problems (or as Blanchard refers to them... monkeys) is something everyone must get better at throughout life. Regardless if you are in the field of business, medical, or even in parenting, solving problems is a big part of being successful every day. That's why I think this book is for everyone. I personally took away valuable knowledge on how to delegate properly and keep a team of people moving in the same direction. One of the great arts of management is delegation and the principles in this book are simply fantastic ideas that when applied, do work. This book cost me $12 and it's helped to make companies I've worked for millions. Pretty good value!

Short, Simple, and Powerfully Effective February 13, 2008 by Paul Edward, author of Moving Forward: Turning Good Intentions Into Great Results by Discovering Yourself, Your Place, & Your Path.
Ken's book is required reading for all of my leadership students and clients who have trouble with taking on everyone else's problems.
Using conversational language, Ken gives the reader simple techniques for reuniting monkeys with their rightful owners.
A must read for everyone in leadership roles.
