This book will help you understand the bible! December 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been reading the bible off and on for 30 years and it wasn't until I bought this book that I actually started to understand it and how it was written. This book breaks down each book of the bible and explains who wrote it, the approx year it was written, the setting, what it means and how to apply it to our lives now. I ended up buying one for all my friends (especially the ones that are new to church) and they all love it too. This is the perfect daily devotion for someone who wants to learn more about the bible and it only takes 10 minutes a day.
The Bare Bones Bible Handbook September 16, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I enjoyed the Bare Bones Bible Handbook because it gives an overall view of each book of the Bible in 10 minutes. You can find whatever you are looking for much easier. I am in classes to become a Certified Lay Pastor and have found this to be very helpful in determining what I will preach about or facts I need to know from every book in the Bible in which to write sermons. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone studying the Bible for whatever reasons.

Christian author and speaker Jim George applies his extensive degree learning from Talbot Theological Seminary to The Bare Bones Bible Handbook: 10 Minutes to Understanding Each Books of the Bible, a plain-text, straightforward guide to what the Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible have to say. Written for lay people, and designed so that the reader can absorb the essence of each book of the Bible in ten minutes at a time, The Bare Bones Bible Handbook is enthusiastically recommended as a quick-study aid especially for anyone new to bible studies. An excellent, no-nonsense primer and introduction to sacred texts.
Excellent Book January 13, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Concise and insightful. Around five page summary, comments, and highlights for each book of the Bible. Very useful as a study aid and arouses desire to read the Bible more. Adds substance and gives a good vantage point from which to re-read Bible having noted the outline, purpose and tone of each book/letter in advance. Proud to add to the collection!
