Product Description For twenty-eight years, things have been tripping along nicely for Cannie Shapiro. Sure, her mother has come charging out of the closet, and her father has long since dropped out of her world. But she loves her friends, her rat terrier, Nifkin, and her job as pop culture reporter for The Philadelphia Examiner. She's even made a tenuous peace with her plus-size body. But the day she opens up a national women's magazine and sees the words "Loving a Larger Woman" above her ex-boyfriend's byline, Cannie is plunged into misery...and the most amazing year of her life. From Philadelphia to Hollywood and back home again, she charts a new course for herself: mourning her losses, facing her past, and figuring out who she is and who she can become.
Download Description The day pop-culture journalist Cannie Shapiro reads her ex-boyfriends' published story about their sex life is the day her life changes. Embarking on a journey through her past she confronts her ex, deals with her lesbian mother and sifts through the answer to how she got where she is--single, angry and exposed.

Good in Bed August 13, 2008 In Her Shoes was the first book I read by Jennifer Weiner so I thought I would read another book authored by Weiner. Good in Bed's character was a whinner and not very interesting. Didn't see the humor in any of the story and the book was wordy. Disappointing that this wasn't as good as In Her Shoes.
Change books title to "Insecure in Bed" August 4, 2008 Don't get me wrong, the book wasn't that bad. I enjoyed the humor, men bashing, relationship troubles and Cannie's eventual successes. It was a great 2 hours on a 14-hour flight. But after a while Cannie got to me, and not in a good way.
Her insecurities and self-pity got to be too much after a while, and I found myself speed-reading to get through. Like a good chick-flick, this is a good chick-book. If your female (possibly having relationship troubles in your own life may lead you to enjoy it more), and you are heading out to the beach grab this one, it's worth it.
My Favorite! July 24, 2008 I love Cannie Shapiro in this novel! She is brilliant and has an awesome personality. I highly suggest reading this book, you won't be able to put it down... when you finish, you will want to read the sequel!
Entertaining and Comical June 27, 2008 I bought this book while I was on vacation at the beach. It was exactly what I wanted! I found myself laughing out loud at Cannie and her dog Nifkin. If you want a fun summer read, this is it!
Seriously? June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this because I heard Weiner was a good author. This book was terrible! It was painful for me to flip through the story because Cannie was too whiny, the plot moved painstakingly slow, and it just wasn't that interesting.
