Product Description
Completely updated for its Fifth Edition, the best-selling Textbook of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is the most comprehensive textbook you can buy in this specialty. No other text delivers more information on more aspects of pediatric emergency medicine, including resuscitation; more than 70 signs and symptoms; trauma; medical and surgical emergencies; psychosocial emergencies; neonatal and adolescent care; and an all-inclusive section on procedures. This edition includes new pediatric indications for drugs used in the emergency department and more information on ultrasound imaging. Hundreds of illustrations and tables complement the text throughout. Algorithms for diagnosis and treatment are included in all the chapters on signs and symptoms as well as many others.

THE pedi EM bible. September 25, 2006 This is to pediatric emergency medicine what Nelson's is to general pediatrics. This is the book. The bible. The source. Easy to read. Lots of tables and algorithms. Cool green cover!
excellent reference April 26, 2000 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Excellent desktop reference for the busy pediatrician. Many tables, graphs and subheadings facilitate rapid scanning of the easily read prose. A welcome addition to any emergency room that treats children. Extensive bibliography with each chapter.
