| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description As members of the church, Wilson maintains, we are all responsible for creating a clerical culture and for that culture's transformation. Clericalism aids this transformation by helping us examine some underlying attitudes that create and preserve destructive relationships between ordained and laity. After looking at the crisis and establishing where we are now, this book challenges us with concrete suggestions for changing behaviors. Ultimately, this is a hopeful book, looking for the restoration of a genuine priesthood, free of clericalism, in which we become truly united in Christ.

This one is a keeper May 17, 2008 22 out of 27 found this review helpful
Clericalism:The Death of Priesthood is the book that Catholics need to read. The Pope comes to America and says "I am deeply ashamed of the sex scandal": now what? George Wilson shows what the next step has to be. There is no point in thinking that the bishops or the priests can 'make everything right' it is up to everyone to take the necessary steps to bring the Church into the 21 Century... the changes have to start with you and me. He makes it feel like an exciting and do-able process.
