Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of Fly Tying's Most Significant Books   November 19, 1999

Mr. Jorgensen elevates fly tying to an art form. His patterns are amazing in their life-like appearance. Yet his techniques to achieve this are straight forward and practical for most fly tyers to simulate.

The added dubbing mix recipes are a true benefit for any tyer using any pattern technique. Combined with a simple stage-by-stage pattern list for each species the overall benefit is not limited to the fantastic patterns shown in the book, but as well applies to understanding the fishing sequence the patterns are to be used in.

This isn't a beginner's book. You need skills that are sufficient to allow you to duplicate most commonly tied flies. If you are looking to advance your tying then this is the book to look for.
