Product Description A columnist and author of The Writer's Art now covers the entire scope of the writing experience. Kilpatrick addresses broad issues from the evolution of language to the reasons why everyone should mind grammar. Both an authoritative writer's guide and a pleasure to read.

Belongs beside Strunk & White in a writer's library October 18, 1998 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
Mr. Kilpatrick, like E. B. White, is a grammarian and a sometimes comedian. Fine Print is written in a pleasantly light vein, yet it speaks with strong authority on the do's and don't's of the written language. Best of all, it contains an alphabetical list of commonly confused words, and words whose meanings are quite close but not identical - the fine points we would all do well to pay more attention to. I recommend it highly - for instruction to be sure, but for entertainment as well.
