Jim Zumbo Fired by Remington; Gun Culture Pariah February 20, 2007 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
It will be difficult to hunt mule deer when your hunting rifles are banned as "sniper rifles" and your military-style rifles have been confiscated as "assault weapons." If this happens, it will happen with the ideological support of Jim Zumbo, who recently wrote an editorial at Outdoor Life Magazine calling "assault weapons" the tools of terrorists and calling on them to be banned. Too little, too late, he tried to post an apology column, but the damage was done -- already, the Brady Campaign and other anti-hunting, anti-shooting, gun-banning organizations have been quoting his words as support for their agendas.
I won't ever buy another book from Jim Zumbo, and neither should you.
A must read for the first time hunter September 27, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Jim did not like the GPS but I fell the rest of the info in the book was right on this is a basic book. If you have hunted mule deer a lot don't buy it! If you are going out for the first time this is a must read. And well worth the money. Most of you guy that have been hunting mule for a long time would be better off spending your time looking for deer in your zone than reading this book
The Complete Hunter - Jim Zumbo (MULE DEER) April 24, 2002 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a reaaly good book, however, I felt that a lot of the information was based on common knowledge. I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking to get started at Hunting mule deer!
Very basic introductory book January 31, 2002 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was a little disappointed with this book, it is a very basic introduction to mule deer hunting. I was hoping for something more in depth on the habits of these beasts and how to get them on the table. Almost a 'coffee table' book, not terribly informative.
