Stressfire May 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have only read a small part of the book and scanned all of it. It looks like a very helpful book especially for those who have had little or no training in tactial methods.
Stressfire, Vol. 1 (Gunfighting for Police: Advanced Tactics and Techniques) (Gunfighting for Police April 12, 2008 This is the third book that I have read by this author. This book opens your eyes to the real world and shows you options for different scenarios. It isn't written in stone to do things his way, it tells you what is there and you choose what works best for you. Well worth the cost.
Read this book in the morning, go to the range that afternoon March 17, 2008 Read this book, then go put the theories in practice! Mr Ayoob walks the reader through every step of his system. Its up to teh reader to put this into practice at the range.
A most for LEOs, CCWs, and anyone interested in using a handgun properly.
Bullseye! March 10, 2008 I'm certainly not qualified to argue the merits of one gunfighting technique over another, but Ayoob is, and makes his case in a clear and logical manner. He isn't afraid to buck tradition, and backs up his arguments with photographs and diagrams that clearly illustrate his point. Best of all, he writes from the position of not only a peace officer, but also a homeowner defending his person and property from an intruder. The emphasis here is on performing under stress, not casual target shooting or plinking, and if you're going to keep a gun in the house you'll need to know this stuff. This is a "must read" for anyone considering packing heat for personal protection, or even keeping a shotgun beside the bed.
Stressfire Vol. 1 February 16, 2008 I would have only one piece of advise to the master shooter. If you are going to fire a .357 in the dark, close one eye when you fire your first shot, because you won't be able to see for the second shot. The flash from a .357 wheel gun is immense.
Every shooter should read this book.
