Amazing Room Colors January 8, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The color photographs in this book are incredible. Most of the rooms are decorated with either bright, dark or medium tones of color. There are some more muted colors too, so something for everyone. There are various styles represented in this book, mainly contemporary, traditional and modern looks.
I'm not a color expert, but some of the colors used for the Serenity section, did not really seem serene, i.e. bright orange. In the Choosing the Right Color section, the chapters are divided either by color or mood (red, spicy, exotic, natural, green, dynamic). Along with a discussion of some possible color combinations, there are gorgeous photographs. When the section discusses a particular color, there are side panels from various interior designers or "experts" on their experience with the use of the color. Each color section ends with sample color palettes for monochromatic, complementary, split complementary, analogous and neutral color selection options.
I liked this book mainly for it's gorgeous pictures, decorating tips and color combination ideas.
Color Your Home February 24, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book had some great color combinations. The rooms showed punches of color in a variety of styles, however, most of the rooms were contemporary/modern. If you aren't timid about using color you could definitely draw some ideas from this book.
