4 out of 5 stars Great recipe book   June 30, 2008
Nice easy recipes with "idiot proof' instructions that includes exactly how many coals you need to cook with. Perfect for a beginner dutch oven cooker. Can't wait to try some on my next campout!

5 out of 5 stars Great Book   May 27, 2008
Great book for beginner Dutch oven cookers. Tells you how many coals to use and where to put them. Can't wait to start cooking with it.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent book--it gets used almost daily   February 8, 2008

My boyfriend has a lot of cast iron--in fact, they are his pots of choice to use. However, he didn't have a lot of recipes for his dutch ovens. I took a chance and ordered this book for him. He absolutely loves it. The recipes are easy to read, understand, and use. The results are delicious. He refers to it almost daily, and is constantly trying new recipes out of it. I recommend it to anyone who likes to use dutch ovens.

3 out of 5 stars Confusing for the dutch oven novice   January 13, 2008

My husband bought me a dutch oven and this book for Christmas after I complained that my recipes would sometimes call for a dutch oven, which I did not have. I do not/will not be using my dutch oven for camping. This cookbook is confusing for the non-camping user. The preface says that recipes will be given in oven temp and coals, but some of the recipes forget to give you the oven temp and only tell you how many coals to use. Our first recipe from the book, a chicken recipe, was a dud and no one in my family liked it.
