Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Oh, you gotta have friends!   February 12, 2008
4 out of 5 found this review helpful

Bette Middler sang about it -- You gotta have friends! American Girl will explain it all to the tween in your life: how to meet friends, keep friends, avoid arguments, and keep on having fun through it all!

This book is a must have for girls and their families. Conversations will be started, communication will grow, and happiness will abound. Now, what could be wrong with that?

This book is filled with wonderful illustrations that underscore the lively writing.

Absolutely recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Big hit   January 18, 2008

My niece is 9 and I gave this to her as one of her Christmas gifts. She loves her other books from the American Girl series and this one is no exception. She began reading it immediately and then discussing it with me. It was a big hit! And it seems very practical and useful for helping young girls navigate those early relationships with friends.

5 out of 5 stars Great book   June 16, 2007

My [....] and I are really enjoying reading this book. While it is aimed, I think, at slightly older girls, We are reading it and talking about how to handle certain situations, how to start up conversations with girls you don't know, etc. I think it is a great starting point for girls who are just starting to be faced with girlie friendship dilemmas.

4 out of 5 stars A fun way to learn about friendships   May 13, 2007

This is a great book if your child needs some help in understanding the lines in friendships and how to conduct them. It gently explains the dos and don'ts in a way that will appeal to younger girls.
