Product Description Field of Glory provides the historical tabletop wargamer with a new, accessible rules set. With no new high-quality games system aimed specifically at the Ancient and Medieval wargamer for over 10 years, this product will fill the gap in this market. Legions Triumphant includes a well-designed, visually stunning and comprehensive army listings, with detailed historical overviews of each army, supporting maps and Osprey artwork.

Imperial Rome at War August 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a wargamer's guide and a supplement to Osprey's `Fields of Glory Ancient Wargaming' title. It focuses on Imperial Rome and her enemies and neighbors from 27 BC to AD 493, providing army lists, gaming figures, troop descriptions, and historical notes for 22 nations-though curiously, the Parthian Empire, one of Rome's great enemies in the 1st and 2nd Centuries, is omitted, along with Armenia and the tribes of North Africa. This book would naturally be most useful for a wargamer, but just about anyone could glean something from its concise histories, lists of troop types, and its selections of some of Osprey's finest artwork pertaining to this period.
very well done June 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is part of the Fields of Glory series put out by Osprey for miniature combat rules. The size design is for a 4' by 6' battle area and 15 mm to 28 mm figures. In addition to listing all the armies of the period in this supplement, there are drawing and information from the Osprey books included. Well done, well laid out, good buy, I would highly recommend. You must have Fields of Glory to play this supplement.
