| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description "Questioning" is a skill rarely taught in school, but doing it well - that is, asking the right questions of the right people - can radically transform attitudes, actions, and results. Change Your Questions, Change Your Life provides easy-to-learn tools that can make a significant and immediate difference in people's business and personal lives. Written as an engaging fable, it inspires readers to take charge of their thinking in order to accomplish goals, improve relationships, advance careers, investigate new territories, and in general gain greater life satisfaction. This book explains how to "be your own coach," outlines the author's QuestionThinking Model, and lists the top 12 questions for change. Real-world examples provide practical models for applying the principles in a variety of situations, while a Choice Map is a useful visual tool that demonstrates that everyone has a choice in every situation, even if it is not immediately apparent.

Practical, Doable plus My Suggestions September 25, 2008 BACKGROUND I selected this book with my nutritional/lifestyle modification clients in mind because of their difficulty in making sustainable lifestyle changes. After reading this book, I now have tools to better help my clients lead themselves to success.
On a personal note, I found the book to be insightful. It appears that I use some of the methods unconsciously but I'll be asking a lot more questions from now on!
THE BOOK - The book is told in a story format. It's skimable in some parts but mostly not superfluous.
- The author includes a simple (not simplistic), pictorial representation of the types of questions and choices we make. Very handy and clear!
- The last chapter summarizes the 7 keys for changing your life.
- Also listed are the Top 12 Questions for Change
For certain types of clients, I will include this book as part of their treatment plan.
PROs: - very easy to comprehend - quick read - NOT a new-agey or touchy feely self-help book(whew!) - Applies to all aspects of life (not just business) - PRACTICAL AND DOABLE (a bottom line for me when recommending books to clients or colleagues)
ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS: The author has a website (http://www.inquiryinstitute.com/) from which you can download a color version of the Choice Map and free past Teleseminars.
I would pair this book with Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to help prioritize goals.
Avoid re-living "Groundhog Day" - learn and move towards your best self! July 13, 2008 Many of us unwittingly live lives like Bill Murray in "Groundhog Day," thinking and acting the same way while expecting different results. Marilee Adams offers a straightforward yet profound narrative for avoiding this "trap." She makes our blindspots visible by exposing how the unconscious conversations we have with ourselves trip us up and lead to dead ends and provides us with a new set of eye-glasses which guide us toward learning, open us to relationships, and create growth. What questions are you asking yourself and what results are they getting you? If you truly desire to take responsibility for your life, move towards your best self and help others do the same, then read this book!
Clear, concise and entertaining May 13, 2008 Self-Empowerment 101: Re-enchantment with our own capacity for empowering ourselves and others
As a life coach, empowering clients to question their reality is part of the challenge. Adams has done a superb job of providing great information through story. She has made a challenging process simple and easy for anyone to grasp the value of questions. Great job1
Title is accurate - life changing if you embrace it. February 14, 2008 This book was required reading for a work related exercise. Great stuff. Highly recommend it for anybody no matter what you do. It applies to our attitudes, which the more I learn controls how you feel about things.
questions are more important than answers July 16, 2007 If given a difficult problem and 20 hours to solve it, I would spend 19 hours framing the question. This is a paraphrase from Albert Einstein. The way a person approaches life truly defines the outputs that they get out of it. Can 3-5 hours with a book change your life?
