| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Say congratulations with the two bestselling parenting books presented together in one handsome gift set. Packaging What to Expect When You're Expecting with What to Expect the First Year--together with an astonishing 13.5 million copies in print--creates an instant 1,200-page reference library on pregnancy, childbirth, and baby's first year. Each book is trusted, reliable, and reassuring, thorough in approach, and always up-to-date. Together they'll guide every mother- and father-to-be through the 21 most important months in their lives as parents.
Book Description America's bestselling guide to caring for a baby is now better than ever: announcing a two-years-in-the-making, cover-to-cover, line-by-line revision and update of the 6.9-million-copy What to Expect the First Year, the bible for taking care of a newborn through the milestone of his or her first birthday. The Second Edition incorporates the most recent developments in pediatric medicine. Every question and answer have been revisited, and in response to letters from readers, dozens of new Q&As have been added. The book is more reader-friendly than ever, with updated cultural references, and the new material brings more in-depth coverage to issues such as newborn screening, home births and the resulting at-home newborn care, vitamins and vaccines, milk allergies, causes of colic, sleep problems, SIDS, returning to work, dealing with siblings, weaning, sippy cups, the expanded role of the father, and much more. An updated cover and all-new black-and-white line illustrations complement the fresher book with a fresher look.

useful and appreciated November 16, 2008 This is a wonderful gift, not only to a first mother, but to any woman who is having a child. I have gifted my granddaughter with a set. I use them as reference books in my work as a telehealth nurse and I've enjoyed them myself in my newest role as great grandmother.
As Expected May 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Puchased this as a gift for our daughter who is expecting our first grandchild. She lives 1,200 miles away, so I thought this would be something to help answer those questions at times when Mom was not available. It's a great handbook and can be very reassuring for first-time moms to know what's going on with developing baby and the changes their own bodies are making. Great reference books for any new parent's shelf.
worth while reference August 25, 2007 We use the whole set for references at work. It is terrific and I remind women that they can borrow it from the library. Worthwhile having on your own shelf!
What ever expecting mother should know June 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this book with both of my children. I never called the doctor once during the children's first year. When the doctor asked me why I was the only parent that had not had called her with a million questions, I explained that the answers I had sought were in this book. I purchased this copy for a friends daughter. A must read.
A must-have for expectant and new parents April 11, 2007 This set includes two of the most informative books out there. The chapters are clear and easy to follow and are absolutely full of great information. I can't think of a better book for expectant parents and the first year book is a helpful resource to have on hand, too, to accompany The Baby Book by Dr. Sears, both of which should be in every parent's bookcase.
