Comments: Very Good. No Jacket 8vo-over 7 3/4"'"-9 3/4"'" tall. This book gives an outline of the history of the Netherlands from prehistory until about 1450. The Burgundian-Hapsburg period, up til about 1550 is described in greater detail including the history of what is now Belgium. The struggle for independence of the Northern Netherlands in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, is described extensively as the period spans the birth and recognition of the sovereign state of the Netherlands. This is followed by the development of the republic in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and the temporary loss of independence under French rule. Finally, the history of the Netherlands is recorded as from 1813, when the present kindgom was established until the present time. Clean throughout/ tight binding. Previous owners name on flypage.
