Tall If you thought High School English was bad, during the Victorian period of the one room school - English classes were positively dreadful, with their poor victims saddled with horrid and vapid texts such as this 471 page instrument of torture. Only two things kept this from the recycling center: The first was its modest above average condition, it looks about a century old with moderate wear/edgewear/bumping and rubbing to cloth boards and leather spine with scattered spotting/creasing/dings internally, but these books are usually well beaten up (out of revenge) by the time we see them. The second are its charming old fashioned full page engravings of such subjects as PUCK, THE ANCIENT MARINER, RIP VAN WINKLE and some other scenes.
