Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Suunto Micro Compass series comprises two models, Clipper and Comet, which feature a liquid filled capsule and rotating dial. An invaluable navigational tool in town or country, the compass can be clipped to a watch band or bag strap, or used as a key ring to ensure that the compass is always with you when you need it. A Suunto Micro Compass, customized with a company logo, makes an ideal and practical business gift.

Amazon.com Product Description
Hailing from Suunto's Micro series, the Clipper L micro compass attaches conveniently to a watch band or hand strap, making it an invaluable navigational tool for on-the-go users. More importantly, the Clipper's liquid-filled capsule, jewel bearing, and rotating dial are accurate and precise whether you're navigating on city streets or country roads. The compass even comes with a luminous bezel for low-light conditions. Plus, the compass--which measures a mere 1.2 by 0.94 inches (W x L)--takes up virtually no space in your pocket. So go small without sacrificing accuracy with the Clipper L.

5 out of 5 stars It works well but...   August 19, 2008
I bought it to add it to my watch band but it doesn't fit. My watch band is titanium and is somewhat thick. So I can't blame Suunto.

Amazon didn't take it back. On the other hand, it will be a great present since (a) it works very well, (b) it also has its own band (a velcro thingie), and (c) it's well made and looks very nice.

NOTE. This is the first time ever that Amazon didn't allow returning an item. Their excuse was hilarious: it contains a flammable liquid.

5 out of 5 stars Worked as expected   June 12, 2008
Works well and seem to be of good quality. If this is what you need I recommend it without reservations.

3 out of 5 stars its ok for the price   May 27, 2008
not a bad little compass, moves a bit slow when your turning it, but then I didn't really expect much for what I paid.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth it.   April 22, 2008
I purchased this compass to attach to my new Timex. It didn't fit on the Timex band nor did it fit the bands of any other watch I own. Granted, it is only ten dollars, but it's just not worth purchasing. I guess it does point to North, if you hold it flat and steady. It just won't serve my purpose, however. I'd send it back but it's not worth returning.

3 out of 5 stars Fair compass   March 16, 2008

Not a big issue since you shouldn't be navigating with this compass but it was a little off magnetic north compared with a higher end compass and city street guides. Should do the job for basic orientation when arriving by train in some of those strange countries.
