Buckingham Palace Gardens by Anne Perry August 4, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is great and good reading as all of her books are. She is my favorite writer.
A GOOD, JUICY MURDER WITH ONLY ONE FLAW... August 1, 2008 ...no Charlotte to give Pitt help with his inquiries. But little Gracie, all 4'11.5" of her, finally gets to shine in this well-crafted novel. I did miss Charlotte and some of the other characters that often appear in this fine series but I was glad to see Pitt back solving murders and not hunting down saboteurs.
I don't want to give too much away, so I'll just say I thoroughly enjoyed this latest edition of Charlotte and Thomas Pitt's adventures in crime. If you are a fan of this series, I think you'll be pleased as well.
Another fine job by Ms. Perry. But next time, a little bit more of Charlotte.
Great rainy afternoon reading July 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been addicted to these books by Anne Perry for a number of years. They track well with stories my great-grandmother told me, and it's enjoyable to curl up with one of the books on a rainy afternoon.
Anne Perry novels are wonderful July 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have all her novels and though I haven't had the chance to read this one yet I'm sure I'll be pleased.
Unexpectedly Boring July 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoy all of Anne Perry's novel series in general. But, I found this story too convoluted and boring at the same time - 1) I had to pause to write a diagram of the principle couples as they were indistinguishable from one another 2) I did not feel that the final answer made sense 3) there was too much melancholy musing by an inconsequential participant. If I hadn't been at the beach with nothing else to read, I would have skipped to the end to put myself out of misery. I am not thrilled with the way that Thomas Pitt's carreer is turning.
