5 out of 5 stars Beautiful collection of essays   March 14, 1999
3 out of 4 found this review helpful

The American Encounter is a truly beautiful collection of essays which gives a good ideas of the prevailing moods during particular periods throughout the 20th century. It is very suitable for international relations courses, focusing on american foreign policy, but also of interest for the general reader.
