All About Films - Videohound's Golden Movie Retriever 2007 March 19, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Videohound's Golden Movie Retriever 2007 is the most comprehensive book on films that I've found. I checked several books on the subject in stores and even bought one(sight unseen)from a bargain book source. Golden Movie Reviewer topped them all. It has everything from titles, stars, directors and award winners well indexed and easy to use. And the price is right too.

VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever is THE sourcebook for movie buffs. Comprehensive, informative, frequently amusing, and packed with reviews of more movies than you could view in a lifetime...if you're a celluloid junkie, this is a great fix! Ten out of 5 bones! VideoHound also has several titles that are genre-specific (i.e., Cult, Indie, Horror, Asian, etc.).

Absolutlely the best for movie lovers. Don't bother with any other movie info books. This one has it all.
Lasts for several years + excellent x-ref schemes. February 10, 2007 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
One of the best features about this book is that you don't need to buy a new copy every year. We are about to buy the 2007 version, but our previous copy was the 2000 edition! Unless you are a real fanatic about the most recently released movies, there's no need to keep on buying this book year after year. After all, 90% of the movies in the book were released prior to 2000, and the most recent releases aren't on TV or DVD for at least 6 months.
One of the features we especially like is to look up an actor, and see all the movies that they have appeared in. This is particulately interesting when one wants to review the movie career of the smaller, bit-part actors.
Highly recommended.

The Videohound is an absolute necessity to help you navigate all the movies that are available, especially if you like to rent movies. You can search movies by title, actor, AND director. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
