5 out of 5 stars I'm finding my north star!   March 23, 2008

Haven't read too far into the book, but it is very interesting and an easy read so far.

5 out of 5 stars Life Altering   March 18, 2008

I went into this book skeptically but I am now a huge fan. Martha Beck is witty, insightful and the book is full of aha moments and real insight into what holds us back in life.

Like many of the best life guides, the information isn't some new creation but solid, thoughtful views of the universe and the way people react within it.

I would recommend it highly for anyone struggling to transform into a greater version of themselves.

4 out of 5 stars Motivational and practical   March 9, 2008

This is an excellent book because it provides motivation and very practical exercises to help to move the reader from wishing for change to making change happen. Martha Beck writes with a wonderful sense of humor as well as sharing her own journey which I found inspirational. Since this book is about potentially radical change she also prepares readers for that and for how to deal with the fear and internal resistance that may arise as one takes the steps to find a truly happy and rewarding life. I found the book provided hope and motivation in facing some difficult career challenges.

3 out of 5 stars Many details, less essence   February 19, 2008
0 out of 4 found this review helpful

The approach of this author is very detailed. I consider the problem of naming one's calling very brief and simple in case the right approach is applied. And this book is so detailed and so long and the printing is so minute...Too much for as simple subject as defining one's calling should be. Three stars for endeavour.
