a great look @ KAPAP Concepts May 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Avi Nardia has tackled a hard job with his usual ease. Teaching self defense and close range combatives usually degenerates into specific techniques that usually don't fit the situations. Avi has broken CRC into conceptual nuggets: and with illustrations has found a way to teach, demonstrate and convey these ideas through the written word to others. The book might look a bit simplistic at first glance but its because it contains broad concepts of use to give one better tools in ones tool box of self defense and Close Range Combat. I teach CRC and martial arts and I think anyone buying this book will be pleasantly surprised and appreciative of what Avi has brought to the table.
Very Good May 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My name is Jason Goldwasser, I have been involved in martial arts for over 20 years and have been around the gamete of instructional video's and books. Many of these instructionals try to sell you a magic bullet for any situation. I found that this book was quite opposite. This book clearly presented up front, the truth about weapon combat. This book clearly explains the theory and philosophy of Kapap and weapon combat. For once in martial arts the author of this book was completely honest and realistic. I found this refreshing. This book definitely increases your knowledge of the subject matter while giving you a no nonsense view of things. If your looking for a magic bullet, give me a call and I have some swamp land to sell to you, if your looking for truth, buy this book.
A great introduction into the original Israeli fighting art. May 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book has been a great help in understanding the concept of "Relative Position" and its application to self-defense. Although this book is only a guide to understanding the fighting system of modern Kapap, it gives just enough information to allow readers to explore Kapap and use the concepts in their own training. Like it says in the introduction, this book is not a magical solution to self-defense rather it is about upgrading the "toolbox" through a variety of resources. I also agree that today's Kapap is more of an "international" self-defense/fighting system than an "Israeli" system and commend Chaim Peer, Albert Timen, Avi Nardi, David Arama, and Professor John Machado for their contributions.

I would like to recommend this very good book to anyone who want to learn about real self defense. This book allows the reader to understand the principles and concepts of the Kapap system. This is the best selfdefense book ever writen.
