5 out of 5 stars Essential for anyone interested in self-defense in USA   August 24, 1998
This is a signiture work for every individual who would consider active self-defense. This should be REQUIRED reading for everyone considering a conceled handgun permit. Re reading of this book requires the concientious citizen to think through the process of personal defense. It is truly unfortunate that this volume is not available at this time i

5 out of 5 stars Required Reading   July 16, 1998
This is one of the most thought-provoking books I've ever read about the realities of using a firearm for protection.

The author uses a plethora of real life stories to demonstrate the often confusing differences between what the law says, and how it is interpreted by your local officials. More importantly, he clearly explains what that difference means to you personally.

Unless you have already been involved in a deadly force encounter, this book will open your eyes ... wide. Get it.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent primer for the thinking handgun owner.   May 21, 1998
This is a book that makes you think, take stock, and self-evaluate. The author has a style that holds your interest, never becomes preachy, but constantly challenges you.

No sane person wants to cause harm to others, but bad things happen to the best of people. This book makes you think about the massive responsibility that comes with the capacity to do severe harm that is embodied in handgun ownership.

5 out of 5 stars A must read for gun owners.   December 8, 1997
If you have recently purchased a gun for defense, or are considering it, read this book.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent primer for those carrying concealed   April 5, 1997

Having read the book and then taken the class (LFI 1), I think that anyone carrying a concealed weapon or thinking about it ought to read this first. Massad is the definitive expert when it comes to the hows, whens, whys and what will happens of situations involving the judicious use of deadly force. He is not only enlightening, but captivating in the presentation of his material. I read everything of his I can get my hands on
