seeing God in a new way November 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ths book helps to us see that God wants to have a personal relationship with each of his children. Even though sometimes things don't turn out the way that we wish they would, God is walking with us the midst. A great read for someone who wonders if God really loves them, especially in the midst of tragedy.
thought provoking book November 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book touches so many areas of faith and the human condition. It shows a level of understanding which can only come from experience of suffering and redemption.I highly recommend it.
The Conversation You Wish You Had with God November 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book inspires you to talk with God. It reminds you how simple finding God and conversing can be.
From the onset you know what will happen in the visit; the author just keeps you on edge as to when each step of the dialogue will evolve. He wraps everything a little too perfectly together and gives the non Christian a way out at the end.
But his dialogue is moving....
One of my all time favorite books! November 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is phenomenal. It is a work of fiction, so don't be confused by the forward (several of my friends have gotten "stuck" on whether it's a true story or not), but there are so many truths in it that not only was I "entertained", I also got a lot out of it. I had started with a borrowed book but quickly realized I had to get my own copy so I could underline in it! You have to think outside the box a little, which is a good practice for most of us, who are comfortable with our preconceived notions about how things are. I highly recommend this book, but do encourage people to read it through the lens of the Bible to compare and contrast the Truth. Overall, it's one of my very favorite books of all time!
The Shack November 29, 2008 Must read! Especially if it seems hard to picture God as a loving, approachable God. Truly eye-opening.
