| Customer Reviews:
A Must Read for Living and Dying August 27, 2008 This book is a must read for how to live your life to be ready to die. It's also an excellent book for the terminally ill on how to live until you die. Randy Pausch's family lost a great husband and father and the rest of us lost a beacon on how to live. Have a box of tissues or your handkerchief ready, though. What an emotional read!
Unforgettable August 27, 2008 You cannot help but be inspired by this wonderful book. Randy Pausch's life and words have you evaluating your own life, and you very quickly realize that the trivial problems in your life are pretty much just that, trivial. You see that what you must concentrate your energies on are the people you love and the things you love doing. Besides his own children, this book is the best possible legacy that Randy Pausch could have left us.
A man I would have liked to known August 27, 2008 I WAS HALF WAY THROUGH THE BOOK WHEN I HEARD ON THE RADIO OR TELEVISION THAT RANDY HAD DIED. I WAS SADDEN AND IT TOOK ALMOST TWO WEEKS FOR ME TO PICK UP THE BOOK AGAIN. BUT I DID. THE BOOK IS VERY UPLIFTING AND MOTIVATING. IT IS ALSO A BLUE PRINT FOR HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE: emotionally and morally. I WISH I HAD THIS BOOK WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER FOR I AM CERTAIN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A POSITIVE FORCE IN MY LIFE AND I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE OUT OF MY EDUCATION AND RELATIONSHIPS. THAT SAID, IT DID BRING TEARS TO MY EYES IN THE LAST TWO CHAPTERS. WHY I DID NOT OUTRIGHT BAWL WAS BEYOND ME. MAYBE I WANTED TO STAY ALERT WHILE I WATCHED "THE LAST LECTURE".
THE LAST LECTURE August 26, 2008 ONE OF THE MOST MOVING BOOKS I'VE READ. WANTED TO EXPEREIENCE HIS WORDS FIRST HAND AFTER READING ABOUT RANDY IN VARIOUS MAGAZINE ARTICLES FOLLOWING HIS UNTIMELY DEATH. WILL PASS THIS ON TO MY SON FOR INSIGHT IN RAISING HIS FOUR CHILDREN.
Must Read August 26, 2008 I think everyone should read this book, especially school aged kids! There's a lot of wisdom in these pages. I would rather my 14 year old daughter read this as a required summer reading book for school than that of masterbation, rape and oral sex (which is what she currently has to read for 9th grade!).
