A great comicbook that would make a great movie! October 27, 2002 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
An intriguing, scary sc-fi prison break story.Beings for all over the galaxy have been kidnapped by an evil empire bnt on conquering their worlds. Most have amazing super-powers, but the role of leadership falls to one ordinary man. This is the most interesting science fiction adventure I've read in years. It would make a stellar movie, as well.
a good book for new kyle fans February 19, 2001 1 out of 8 found this review helpful
i just finished this book and i found that it is a good book to get some back ground on the early years of kyle's green lantern adventures.it's funny how far kyle has come along.i missed the early years(having read the title the last two yaers or so).i found that the book had a good start to it but then it slowed down in the middle.the ending how ever was great!kyle finds out what it takes to be a hero while in a great battle with grayven. this book is deffently worth checking out!
The strongest GL stuff Marz released November 27, 2000 4 out of 13 found this review helpful
Baptism of Fire collects most of the early Raynor GL issues. In them, you'll see a cocky, headstrong kid begin to grow into the responsibility of Green Lantern. Most of these stories owe themselves more to the classic Spider-Man stuff ('with great power comes great responsibility')than the Hal Jordan ('I have a magic ring and I play space cop between beers')era.
Guaranteed To Make You Pine For The Old Hal Jordan Stories March 19, 2000 7 out of 33 found this review helpful
Why?Why did DC allow a hackneyed writer to kill off one of their greatest Silver Age heroes and then replace him with a Gen X slacker named Kyle Rayner? This book once again proves that it was an ill-thought idea. It is dull, unimaginative, and completely lacking in the drama and character development that made Hal Jordan (and Alan Scott before him) such a great character. Kyle Rayner as Green Lantern? Just say no!
if you didn't like kyle raynor after reading this you will August 13, 1999 10 out of 18 found this review helpful
the book starts off with kyle as a mischevious titan and ends with kyle finding himself as a true hero, and future justice leaguer. guest staring the old flash (wally west), sentinal, batman and robin, wonder woman and adam strange each page is more intreging than the previous. in closing if you have ever questioned your role in life and finally found it, then you will relate and admire kyle raynor's quest for greatness.
