Best, most complete info in one book July 30, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I thought I knew a lot about credit scoring but this book taught me things I didn't know. Read the book from cover to cover or I guarantee you will miss out on valuable information. The book mentions the website but unfortunately it has been 'under construction' since I bought the book a couple months ago-which is a bummer since I have questions I would like to ask.
Worth its weight in gold! July 28, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I began the credit repair journey like most people: disgusted, unsure, and intimidated. I read all of the credit boards, to no avail, and began searching on amazon for a book to help. Many of the reviews for other books pointed to Dana Neal's book, Best Credit. I ordered it, figuring that it probably wouldn't help.
Boy was I wrong! This book has truly been a blessing and I feel so lucky to have found this resource! Dana Neal outlines the credit repair process from start to finish. Beginning with an extensive overview of the scoring system and how the bureaus operate, and ending with sample letters and court cases, this book is stuffed with invaluable resources.
Mr. Neal stands behind his work, and lists his email address. I encountered a unique situation, and he actually walked me through it. How many other authors would do that? I started knowing absolutely *nothing*, and after reading the book several times, each time taking copious notes and making highlights, I have a solid game plan, and am no longer intimidated by the credit repair process.
Mr. Neal has saved me over $600. I was going to pay a credit repair agency, but thanks to his book, I know that I can do a better job than any agency. I have already recommended this book to my brother, my cousin, and my friend. Since I love to share the gift of reading, I will be ordering several more copies of Best Credit, to give as Christmas gifts to my loved ones who are in need of credit repair. I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Neal for writing this book and sharing his in depth knowledge with others. If knowledge is truly power, than Dana Neal is the KING of credit repair.

King of the credit mountain July 10, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Dana Neal hit the nail on the head with this book. Anyone with a checkered credit past can learn precisely and to the point how to proceed with improving their credit reports and in turn their credit scores. I think this book is a must read for people with good/great credit histories also, because unfortunately in this day and age too many things can happen (identity theft, etc.) and you need to know how to arm yourself to fight back. This book can be your sword.
I have read several books on this topic. Some are out of date, others are loaded with useless [...]. One actually devoted half the book to reciting the FCRA, which was not only tearfully boring, but completely unnecessary. And a word of caution - Some websites and blogs out there give information that can be terribly damaging. This book provides a combination of federal and state statute information, case law, and the author's own personal experience (complete with copies of correspondence he has engaged in with several entities) that will guide you through the murky maze of credit restoration.
Don't even think about calling a credit repair company or debt consolidation company until you have read this book (because then you'll know why you never would!) Thinking about ordering your credit report online?? HA! Big mistake!
Worth every penny (and more), this book should be a starting point for every person who wants the "skinny" on the credit reporting industry in this country. Just click here (and thank me later) BestCredit: How to Win the Credit Game
Great Book, Substantive Content June 5, 2007 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I had a fair amount of credit repair experience before picking up this book. I had done a bunch of reading, hired credit repair agency, and had spent plenty of my own time trying to repair my credit in the past. My results with credit repair agencies have been totally negative, my success in my own efforts mixed. While I knew I wasn't an expert, I thought I was well-armed with knowledge - until I read BestCredit.
Most sources of credit repair information on the web offer glib "fluff" articles and oversimplified solutions to what can be a complex problem. BestCredit picks up where everything I've seen leaves off. The book has deep, thorough explanations of every problem with your credit you're likely to encounter. More importantly, it has specific, detailed solutions to various credit problems, **and to various combinations of problems.** It gives you enough background to make sure you won't unintentionally make your problem worse, which is very possible if you just read an article and print off a form letter from a credit repair web site.
I can't emphasize this enough: If you haven't read this book, you probably don't know enough about credit repair to be 100% successful in your efforts. After you read this book, you will have everything you need. Period. Buy the book, now.
An Excellent Resource for Surviving the Bad Credit Trap April 30, 2007 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Very well written and easy to understand, I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs to improve their credit scores, regardless of the reason. Extremely helpful and practical, the topics covered address everything from identity theft to legally negotiating your way to a clean credit history, whether the negative entries are accurate or inaccurate, and whether you owe the money or not. The author uses his personal experience as illustrations, making you feel comfortable that he understands your situation. In the book he gives his website address and invites readers to contact him if they needed any additional help with specific questions. When I emailed him, he responded in a matter of hours with the help that I needed. Thanks again, Dana!
