Gun Dog: Revolutionary Rapid Training Method May 9, 2007 Succinct, easy instructional read that works. I am 2 weeks in to training a new pup via the book and he is responding positively. It had been 13 years since doing this and the book is helping us both.
Dog Training for Beginners April 12, 2007 Learn the phases your dog goes through as he ages, and then learn how to use those phases to your own advantage in your training.
Easy read January 12, 2007 It does a good job of expaining the basics of how to get the dog to understand or you to understand the dog. I agree with almost all of his tactics or methods. This book or one like it is a MUST HAVE for a new trainer or handler.
Learning Phases of the Dog. January 10, 2007 Wolters book describes the learning phases that dogs go through based on the age of the dog. The research on how dogs learn was completed in the 1950s and is just as correct today as ever. Great descriptions of what, how and when to train are accompanied by hundreds of photos illustrating the steps. The two Weimaraners I have trained with Wolter's method are wonderful. While other hunters may be hunting for their dogs mine are busy hunting birds for me. I have purchased this book for several of my friends who's dogs also turned out great.
Classic dog training January 3, 2007 This book is easy to read and contains a ton of great information about dog training. Be forewarned, that if you plan on using a training collar you should get a book that covers those basics as well since this book was written before that training tool became available. Lots of humor.
